For 40 years the Nashville Songwriters Association International has been providing songwriters the resources and opportunities they need to be successful. In the 10th annual songwriting contest more than 2,000 submissions were received and the industry judged award was given to Tonya Poe, David Garcia, and Wayne Smotherman for their song "I Am Wordless". Poe also won the Listner's Choice Award from CMT after receiving the most online votes.
In addition to the annual contest the NSAI has a prize package giveaway that is free for anyone to enter. This March the prize included:
- Pro Mentoring Session for one hour
- Membership to NSAI for one year
- Two songwriting books
- The In Charge edition of Music Row magazine
- T-shrit, water bottle, and military cap
The 2011 Contest kicks off in August of 2011. For more information visit the Nashville Song Association International website.
